THE DELICIOUS DAJAJ MASHWI:
Dajaj
mashwi is a Saudi Arabian bbq dish made of pounded thin boneless chicken
breasts that are marinated and cooked. Spice powders and fresh herbs like
paprika or red chilli powder, ginger, garlic, onion, black pepper, salt, oil,
and lime juice are common marinating ingredients.
The
chicken is traditionally served with a garlic dipping sauce and a green salad
on the side, although it can also be served with couscous, Arabian pilaf, or
soups.When we attended to my friend Indresh's BBQ party, he made it for us. The
chicken was spiced and grilled to perfection, and the marinade looked
delectable. The center was delicious and moist. People were constantly hanging
over the grill for more after he served it with a fruit cocktail.It is the best
dish for spicy food lovers.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
TO SERVES 4-6 PEOPLE
- 4 chicken breasts (boneless)
- 1 teaspoon paprika/chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt (or as much as
you require)
- 1 teaspoon powdered black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lime juice(optional)
- 1 teaspoon powdered coriander
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
DIRECTIONS:
- Flatten the chicken breasts using a
wooden mallet.
- Combine all of the powders with the
lime juice and rub them all over the chicken breasts.
- Allow an hour for the marinated
chicken to soak.
- Cook it on a hot grill and serve it
immediately with a garlic dipping sauce or your favourite sauce. Enjoy the
