Kunafeh | Kunafa

Kunafeh aka Kunafa: 

What is Kunafa? Kanafa is a famous and delicious classic Arabia dessert. It is made with shredded pastry layers enclosing a creamy and a very soft milk pudding. Showered with fragnant simple sugar syrup.  


Kunafa is also called kunafeh It is also filled with Cheese with a soft sweet dough. 

Once you have eaten this Kunafa sweet you are going to forget every dessert you have ever tasted.

 

 Kunafa, pronounced (Ku-Na-Fah), is a traditional Arabic dessert with many regional variants. I've seen a lot of new knafeh ideas recently during my visits to Egypt, but my sister's knafeh is always the best.

My sister made the best kunafa with crunchy upper layer unlike the other soft layer kunafas. Our family loves sweet dishes with full of cream and  cheese and these two are the best this thing of Arabic KunafaThis Kunafa would be the best in the Kunafa world. 


Ingredients to Note: 

  1. Kunafa 
  2. Butter 
  3. Sugar syrup 
  4. Milk 
  5. Sweet cheese 
  6. Cream 
  7. Corn strach 

Description: 

First you have to make the dough. We did not have ‘Kataifi’ so she used Phinniyaa’n instead of that. You can buy it from any grocery store. 


Crush the Phinniyaa’n and add butter to it and combine well. Mix the cheese cream and fresh cream.  

In a baking pan, layer the kunafa vermicelli very well with a perfect level. After the first layer add the first layer, add cheese cream mixture(you can add Mozzarella cheese To it). 


After that you will layer the top with the kataifi or the Phinniyaa’n. Make sure you have enough  of it that you can cover the whole kunafa. 


Now Bake it at 180 degrees for good 15 to 20 minutes. 


How to make the sugar syrup: 


Add equal amount of sugar and water then boil them for 6-7 minutes or until the syrup is in a sticky form. 

Add cardamom to it and tsp of lemon juice. 

After baking kunafa shower the syrup on the top of the kunafa and serve HOT.  

Kunafa can be decorated with dry nuts and Pista is the best option for it. You can serve Kunafa with cream as well. Enjoy your Kunafa.
