SHISH TAWOOK
WHAT IS SHISH TAWOOK:
It is Lebanese grilled chicken skewers or kabobs. Served
almost every where in arab countries. Its name comes from turkey shish means
skewers and tawook means chicken. It has three main important elements which is yogurt, lemon, and garlic.
Almost in every muslim and Arabic countries it is mainly
done outdoor grill even during the winter months. However, home cooks found an
easier way for a quick meal to saute the chicken skewers in saute pan or grill
pan with a little olive oil.
WHY DO WE SERVE IT;
As in Pakistan almost every one is with love the foods like
kabobs, tikka, and grilled, and also Pakistani people use meat and chicken a
lot . So that is why we are serving it to Pakistani people. It is lamost similar
to kabob and tikkas but you can also use it in wraps, rolls , burgers, sandwich
and more.
HOW TO MAKE SHISH
TAWOOK AND WHAT IS ITS INGREDIENTS:
This is the main recipe, and here’s what you will need to
make it.

CHICKEN:
Chicken breasts will be good to make shish
tawook. But it is you choice you can use chicken thighs. Better it would be if
you cut it in 1 inch pieces.

YOGURT:
Plain natural yogurt would be better.

FRESH
LEMON
Fresh lemon citrus will be better to bring
some taste.

OLIVE OIL
v
GARLIC
Minced garlic with the tomato paste.

Spices
Add some spices that you want up to your
taste to make it more tasty. Like pepper, paprika, oregano etc
HOW
TO MAKE IT:

Make the marinade, like in a large bowl mixt the
chicken with yogurt well and combine the tomato and garlic paste with olive oil
and spices and mix it well.

When it is mixed well the marinate the chicken
wrap it in a plastic and put in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours.

Thread the chicken onto the skewers and then
they are ready to be grilled
v
Grill it to your choice but it is best to grill
it for about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
